Get out the baby lotion or oil of your choice (personal fave is organic sesame oil) and give your newborn baby (or older baby) a lovely massage. It’s great for bonding (releases tons of oxytocin for both of you) and as an addition to your nighttime routine. Here are some science backed reasons to massage your baby!

• Aids baby digestion:

Newborns are notorious for being gassy. After all, they never had to digest any food while in the womb. A baby massage can help alleviate constipation and can help baby push gas out. Try the “I love you” massage

• Helps baby with colic:

We don’t know why some babies are colic, but massage has been proven to help soothe them

• Relieves cramps newborn may experience:

Babies can sometimes have muscular cramps because of positioning in the womb, massage can help relax the muscles

• Promotes baby’s physical growth:

• Stimulates baby’s blood circulation:

Babies are mostly sedentary until they start crawling and walking. Massage stimulates blood circulation to limbs and organs.
